TIPS: Our bilingual fishing guides usually get a 15$ tip per day per angler.

CANCELLATION CHARGES: 30 days before departure 30%, 10 days before departure 50%, less then 3 days before departure 100%

MEALS: All meals at the lodge are served family stile.

FISHING: We usually troll for tarpon in the rivers or in the ocean. We catch snook spin casting or trolling. We also fish for Snook, Guapote, Machaca, Drum Fish, Red Snapper,Yellow Fin Tuna. We fish the lagoons and rivers of Tortuguero, Samay Lagoon, Rio Colorado, Rio San Juan and if you are staying a few days we also can arrange for fishing in Nicaraguan waters if you wish so at additional expense for additional gas needed.

TACKLE: You are free to bring you personal fishing rods although we do supply all you will be needing. If you prefer fly fishing we recommend to bring your favorite fly rods as well as flies. We do have special local flies.Most of our fishing is done casting, spinning and trawling. Please check our links for more information on tackle and lures as well as best time to come fishing.

LOST LURES: Charges for lost lures average 10-18 US$ p. lost lure

BOATS: 24 ft Open Fisherman, with a large center console, T-Top, tackle for a full day of fishing (max. 8 hours) either offshore or inshore depending  on weather conditions and where fishing appears to be best. Our  boats take you out the river mouth when the sea is calm and the chances to catch tarpon in the ocean are great. Usually you will be trawling the rivers and lagoons of the Tortuguero and Barra del Colorado National Refuge, Tortuguero, on longer stays we do excursions to Samay Lagoon and Rio Colorado.

FISHING SCHEDULE: 6-11 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. / or 8 hours on board. If you like to spend the full day on board we hand you a box lunch rather then returning for lunch to the lodge.

FIGHTS: Check in time 5.15 a.m. "Pavas Airport". Departure. 6 a.m. Your hotel taxi should leave not later ten 5 a.m.

LUGGAGE: 25 pounds, overweight will be charged additional

Itinerary Sport Fishing

1. Do you already know in which hotel you will be staying the night before? Please let us know as soon as possible. We also will be glad to help with your San Jose hotel arrangements. We will meet you there the night before to hand you over your airline tickets to Barra del Colorado and arrange payment if not done so earlier.

2. We recommend to take a taxi to get from you San Jose hotel to the airport. You should leave your hotel around 5 a.m. The plane to Tortuguerop departs at 6 a.m., you get there at approx. 6.45 a.m. One of our guides will pick you up at the landing strip in Tortuguero. We will have breakfast ready for you. After your check in and breakfast  you are  ready o go fishing a full day (8 hours). You will have lunch and dinner at the lodge, or box lunch if advised early before hand for a full day stay on board.

3. You will be fishing every day for approx. 8 hours. You are free to come back to the lodge for lunch or take sandwiches with you to stay out fishing even during lunch time.

4. On the last day you return early by plane or after breakfast by boat from Tortuguero airport back to San Jose. Your plane departure is approx. 6.45 a.m. You will be back in San Jose, Pavas Airport (NATURE Air) for a 25 min. flight.
